Camden County Wildcats Secure Thrilling 51-41 Victory Over Brunswick Pirates
Glynn County Stadium – In a high-octane clash under the Friday night lights, the Camden County Wildcats emerged victorious against the Brunswick Pirates, winning 51-41 in a game that featured explosive plays, pivotal turnovers, and relentless momentum shifts.
First Quarter Fireworks
The Wildcats kicked off the game with a strong opening, as #11 electrified the crowd with a 41-yard return, quickly followed by a 29-yard gain by #0. Camden County's offensive surge was halted in the red zone, but they managed to put the first points on the board with a 31-yard field goal.
Brunswick, however, wasted no time in responding. Pirates' #10 Gardner answered back with a stunning 65-yard touchdown return. Despite missing the extra point, the Pirates took an early 6-3 lead, setting the tone for a thrilling first quarter.
Camden County struggled on their next possession, going three-and-out as Brunswick’s defense began to assert dominance. The Pirates capitalized on their momentum, with a deep catch by #2 positioning them in the red zone. After two unsuccessful attempts, #9 found the end zone, and a successful two-point conversion extended their lead to 14-3 as the first quarter closed.
Wildcats Rally in the Second Quarter
As the second quarter began, Camden County found their rhythm. A key first down by #2 set up a series of advances, culminating in a power run by #2 into the end zone. With the extra point, Camden narrowed the deficit to 14-10.
Brunswick’s next possession was marred by a fumble, almost giving Camden a critical turnover opportunity. Although the Pirates managed to recover, the Wildcats' defense was unyielding. A mishandled snap by Brunswick allowed Camden to capitalize, scoring a touchdown after a blocked kick, though the missed PAT left the score at 16-14.

With just over two minutes left in the half, Camden's defense stepped up once more, forcing the Pirates deep into their own territory. The Wildcats seized the moment, adding another touchdown to extend their lead to 23-14. As time wound down, Camden blocked a Brunswick punt, setting up a one-yard touchdown run, closing the half with a commanding 30-14 lead.
Third Quarter: Pirates Fight Back
Brunswick refused to back down, starting the third quarter with a determined drive. Jamarius Jones powered through Camden's defense for a 10-yard touchdown, though a failed two-point attempt left the score at 30-20.
The Wildcats quickly responded with a show-stopping 88-yard kickoff return by David Coleman Jr., widening the gap to 37-20. Brunswick continued to battle, as Hoziah Gibbons charged into the end zone on a 24-yard run, bringing the score to 37-27.
Camden’s offense remained potent, with Riendeau connecting with Jonathon Stamos on a 61-yard touchdown pass, putting them ahead 44-27. Brunswick’s Moore then added a four-yard touchdown run, closing the third quarter at 44-34.

Final Quarter: Camden County Closes Out
Early in the fourth quarter, Camden County struck again as Riendeau found Williams for a 30-yard touchdown pass, further extending the lead to 51-34.
Brunswick made one final push, with Towns executing a reverse pass to Kent for a 19-yard touchdown, closing the gap to 51-41. With just minutes remaining, the Pirates had the ball at Camden County’s 45-yard line, but their comeback hopes were dashed as Moore’s pass fell incomplete, resulting in a turnover on downs.
